MS built with no LEDs, installed Wing diode, no John zener or Ed cap. 3300 ohm pullup resistor built into harness between MAC11 +12 on pin 35 and Hall sensor input pin 27 [23 NOV 2002 - added a 10k for a resulting 2500 total resistance, attempting to cure dropouts at around 2-2500 rpm]. The Audi distributor only has one window, so the setup is for a 1-cylinder motor. See 26 NOV 2002 for lots more. Bank 1 drives all five fuel injectors; bank 2 is wired to a single connector up on the front of the engine (soon to drive a water injector on bottom of IC outlet). CTS is on the back of the head, driver's side, I thought it was a stock Bosch item, but the resistance values are too high. The MAT sensor is a stock GM replacement (Wells SU107), installed on the intake manifold in an existing bung just above the injector for cyl 4. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 30 AUG 2002 - Installed standard v2 code on MS. Guy's beta code had some problems. Still need to burn one with proper CTS table. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 01 SEP 2002 CTS characterization. Used a Pyrex meat thermometer and a GB GDT-205 3.5 digit multimeter. Temp Resistance 40 19900 88 6040 130 2460 200 675 gentherm2 -l'Bosch 0 280 130 028 CTS' -c -t 40,88,200 -F -r 19900,6040,675 Generated thermfactor_bosch.s19 from above inc file and stuffed it into megasquirtv2.s19. Downloaded to controller and installed in car. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 20 SEP 2002 Installed dual table code. Mounted box up under dash, two 6-32 screws to relay box rail. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 02 OCT 2002 Installed flyback mod, TIP32C, 1N4753, 270 ohm 1/4 watt. Had to increase reqfuel from 5 to 12 and double VE at low MAP to get it to start and idle. Idle pw is now 1.8-9 instead of 1.3-4, and leaner to boot. Dropped reqFuel back down to 8.0, seems to make the VE table look about right with 16% or so at idle. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 25 NOV 2002 Changed tach circuit to have 1k in R10, pullup is 10k and installed 0.1 uF in D5 position. The tach signal has been degrading, giving lots of zero RPM points and I'm afraid that the transistor in the Hall sensor package is being burned out. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 26 NOV 2002 Gonna change the trigger pickup from the Hall-in to the igniter-out. Igniter pins are 2 (brn-wht, ground) and 22 (grn-wht, signal) on the MAC-11. No, change that. Pin 2 (LED cathode) of the 4n25 opto-isolator is now isolated from board ground and hooked to pin 25 of the DB37. Pin 25 DB37 goes to pin 23 (brn-red) MAC-11, Hall sensor ground; 10k pullup now wired to Hall+ on MAC-11, pin 25 (red-???). Wait, that didn't work, back to plan B. Bruce suggested two Wing diodes, problem worsened, more zeros in a given time. Removed both Wings, 1k R10, 10k pullup, ignition died. Changed 10k to 3300 pullup, reduced problem, but still had zeros at 1150, 2300, 4600. Changed trigger from 27 to 22, added back one Wing. No start. Removed Wing, starts runs, but jumps around, put back 330, still has some zeros, but they are all at 900 RPM, much better than at 2300 and 4600. ----------------------------------------------------------------- To Do ----- Design a daughter board that brings out other ADCs through sensor circuit copies, copy injector driver to two port A pins and add inputs to a couple other port A pins. NOPE, see above. Add TIP111 to pin 36. Hook up wastegate control line; driver hardware, 3A NPN+30v, zener for flyback? 5 v / 500 ohms = 10 mA, so 500 ohm from pin 36 to pin 1?, 2 to non-bar end of 1n4753 and wgfv line on db37, 3 to ground wires on db37. Drill a bunch of holes in IC: injector bung on outlet weep holes under outlet tank pressure tap on top of outlet tank temp sensor holes on both in and out pads
